Yes, the conductor used a mini lightsaber to conduct.

Yes, there are four men back there dressed as storm troopers, Darth Vader, and a Wookie in the French Horn section.

Yes, it was beautiful.

My soul is fulfilled.   I went to a symphony orchestra tonight!

Program was:

-Overture to La Gazza Ladra by Rossini

-Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde, by Wagner

-AND  the Star Wars Suite, by John Williams.

My eyes wanted to cry for Princess Leia’s theme!  It was so so excellent. The French Horn played it perfectly.  I’ve never actually picked apart the different details to the piece before:

There is a rolling piano in the background. The violins keep you on edge especially,  and nothing really ever tugs at my heartstrings more. The flutes are so very whimsical.

My brain is just buzzing completely right now, so I guess I’ll update in the morning.
